G8LYB Equipment
I normally use an Icom IC756ProIII as my main rig. For VHF/UHF I use transverters so I have the facilities of a high performance HF tranceiver on the VHF/UHF bands.
| Band | Transverter | Amplifier | Preamp | Antenna |
| 70MHz (4m) | Kuhne TR70H | Gemini 4 | ||
| 144MHz (2m) | Kuhne TR144H+40 | Beko HLV-1000 | SSB Electronics SP2000 | PowaBeam (CQM9UZ2) |
| 432MHz (70cm) | Kuhne TR432H | Beko HLV-550 | SSB Electronics SP7000 | PowaBeam (CQM18UC) |
| 1296MHz (23cm) | Kuhne TR1296H | Beko HLV-350 | Homebrew | Tonna 35 ele |
The 2m,70cm and 23cm transverters are frequency locked to the shack 10MHz frequency reference to ensure frequency accuracy.
I previously used a SSB Electronics SP23 preamp for 23cm, but had to replace it with a homebrew design capable of handling more than 100W after upgrading to the Beko HLV-350.
I use Ecoflex-10 feeder for 2m and 70cm. On 23cm I use Ecoflex-15 for the transmit signal, and Ecoflex-10 for receive.
