70MHz (4m) 300W Amplifier
This project is still under construction. When completed I intend to loan it to The Rugby Amateur Transmitting Society together with a 70MHz (4m) transverter.
The amplifier is based on a FET module purchased from Ebay.
The control sequencer is a W6PQL sequencer, together with a high-side FET switch, Control is by a ground to transmit input from the driving transceiver/transverter.
A directional coupler and W6PQL dual detector is used to provide an indication of output power and provide high SWR protection.
A 4-port transfer relay is used to switch the amplifier in to the transmit path.
A 28V switch-mode power supply is used to power the amplifier.
