The Ascom SE550 was widely used by a number of water companies and similar organisations in MTP-1327 Trunked Mobile radio systems througout the UK. The Rugby Amateur Transmitting Society (RATS) acquired the units previously used by STW and after reprogramming and retuning them supplied many to UK and European Radio Amateurs.
